This combination of tours “Viking Horse Riding Tour” and the "Gulfoss & Geysir Express" tour is for those who are short on time but still want to make the most of the time they have. Make your dreams come true by acquainting yourself with the Icelandic horse. This breed has remained virtually unchanged since the Vikings brought it to Iceland in the 8th century.
The Icelandic horse is small but sure-footed, docile, enduring and extremely strong. Enjoy a 1 1/2 hour riding tour across the outskirts of the capital while getting to know your horse who has managed to serve the natives for centuries in the harsh landscape of Iceland.
After your riding experience, enjoy a lunch break before heading to the Þingvellir National Park with its unique geological features, natural beauty and historical importance. At Þingvellir, the Icelandic parliament Alþingi was founded in 930 AD, making it the oldest known functioning parliament in the world.

Our tour begins with a scenic drive over the mountain Hellisheiði as we make our way towards Selfoss. We’ll visit Seljalandsfoss Waterfall and take a walk into the rugged gorge of Stakkholtsgjá.
The main attraction here is Þórsmörk (Thor’s Woodland), a nature reserve shielded on three sides by glaciers and mountains. The area has a multitude of small gullies and valleys, clad with low birch-trees that create seemingly endless possibilities for the nature lover.
The glacial melt-off forms rivers that have to be crossed on the way to Þórsmörk and some days the crossing is quite challenging or even impossible. In a matter of hours, an innocent stream can become a thunderous river.
Our skilled drivers are very experienced in these driving conditions and will safely traverse the rivers. This trip is truly unforgettable for the nature lover at the heart with lots of hiking. During the hardest winter months, it might not be possible to access Þórsmörk. In this case, we’ll visit Vík village and the magnificent Skógarfoss waterfall.
This combination tour, including tours Iceland From Below and Blue Lagoon Direct is great for those looking to make the most of an afternoon in Iceland. The tour takes you to unique sights of Iceland’s most spectacular lava tube caves and craters. These beautiful, natural phenomena reveal an extraordinary underground scenery, filled with lava formations and amazing colors.
There are NO handrails, lights or any pre-installed tools in or around the caves. We rely entirely on the equipment we carry and we depend on tourists to respect our careful guidelines.
After experiencing the healthy exercise of walking the lava tubes, we continue with tour AH29, heading to the Blue Lagoon for pure relaxation. Once there, you’ll have many recreational options such as walking through the Blue Lagoon’s spectacular surroundings, bathing in the milky blue-green water, or indulging in spa treatments. All in one afternoon, this popular excursion lets visitors experience some of the most exciting natural phenomena Iceland has to offer.
We’ll visit Þingvellir, where the Icelandic parliament Alþingi was established in 1930. This geologically unique spot is the place where the two tectonic plates joining America and Europe meet. These continents are slowly drifting apart. In 2004 Þingvellir was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List and is now one of eight hundred such places in the world that have been honored by UNESCO.
Next, we’ll head to the Gullfoss Waterfall, the spouting hot spring of Geysir and Strokkur, and the colorful Volcanic Crater Kerið. Our journey continues to the town of Hveragerði, a small, but beautiful horticultural town where you’ll see how geothermal energy has been harnessed to create unique greenhouse cultivation.
Finally we’ll have a scenic ride back, over a mountain heath and back to the capital. Although this trip is an “express” tour, you’ll be visiting some of the most well known historical sites and natural phenomena in the country.

Available throughout the year, this tour takes you to unique sights of Iceland’s most spectacular lava tube caves and craters.
We’ll enter through narrow cave entrances and find they reveal an extraordinary scenery filled with wonderful colors and lava formations. These beautiful, natural phenomena were created when the surface of lava flow hardened and the fluid lava continued to flow in tubes underneath.
You’ll also see natural stalactites and rock formations in this truly an indescribable experience. The caves become wide and high and in many places, the floor is quite even. However, the trip can be quite difficult so bring good walking shoes/hiking boots suitable for uneven lava surfaces.
Respect for nature and safety are our main concerns. There are NO handrails, lights or any pre-installed tools in or around the caves. We rely entirely on the equipment we carry and expect all visitors to respect our guidelines. This tour is suitable for all who can walk on uneven surfaces and who are capable, at times, of crawling on all fours.
